You probably heard about Jim Harbaugh meeting his wife at a P.F. Chang parking lot. It’s a cute story, and I can see why it went viral.
But did you know that the lady in said story wasn’t the coach’s first wife? In fact, the story takes place shortly after Captain Comeback finalized his divorce from Miah Harbaugh.
Let’s learn more about Miah Harbaugh!
1. She, Like Her Ex-Husband, Went to UMich
Miah Harbaugh pursued a degree in paralegal studies at the University of Michigan. Of course, it’s no news that Jim Harbaugh played college football with the Wolverines.
Oh, and their son and daughter went to the same university. It looks like this is a UMich family through and through.
2. She Met Jim Harbaugh Before He Became Coach Harbaugh

Miah met Jim when he was a player, not a coach. But he was in his NFL phase.
Miah? She was Miah Burke then and was part-timing as a waitress as she tried to make her way through school. That said, she quit her job later and focused her energy on raising the kids.
3. She and Harbaugh Went Through a Rough Patch Early in Their Relationship
At some point in 1993, Jim Harbaugh was cut off from the Bears, and his 10-week-old puppy was this close to dying. In short, the sportsman was at rock bottom.
To make matters worse, he and Miah had broken up because he was a jerk (his words, not mine).
But things did work out. The Indianapolis Colts picked him up, his dog got better, and he got back with Miah. The couple got married a few years later and spent a decade together.
They did split up for good in 2006, though.
4. Jim Harbaugh Raised Her Son as His Own
Let’s not dwell too much on the divorce; the Harbaughs had it good for a while, and I like to see the cup half full.

Miah had a kid, Jay, from a previous relationship. Even when he was six, Jay was quite fond of Jim Harbaugh.
Jay is now known as Jay Harbaugh, not Jay Burke. He also followed in Jim’s footsteps and ended up coaching the Michigan special teams.
Later, Jim and Miah had two more kids, James and Grace.

5. Her Kids Are a Lot Like Their Father
Jay is a football lover, James quotes his father often, and Grace is an athlete. So, it’s fair to say that Miah’s kids are heavily influenced by Jim Harbaugh.
6. She Still Taught Her Kids Plenty
Just because the three kids have a lot in common with their father doesn’t mean Miah didn’t contribute much.
In an interview with HuffPost, James Harbaugh made it clear that his mom had a great influence on him growing up and is still a large part of his life.

7. She’s Competitive
Do you know what else James revealed about his mom in that interview? That she’s as competitive as can be! He shared a story of the time Miah took him and Grace to the beach to play King of Hill. Little James ended up eating sand.
Final Thoughts
We know what Jim Harbaugh and his kids have been up to recently. But there isn’t much info about Miah. Maybe she just prefers staying out of the spotlight.
