4 Ways in Which Sophia’s Family Supported Her
The former Law & Order star Benjamin Bratt once said his kids were the center of his and his wife’s universe. Almost everything they do as a family is influenced by their daughter, Sophia.
Let’s check out how the family has supported Sophia Bratt physically and mentally.

1. They Educated Themselves
When Bratt and Soto first knew that a complication during childbirth had left their little girl with a brain injury, they were understandably devastated. Bratt described the feeling as being in a dark tunnel.
That was mainly because the new parents didn’t know what to do. But they started educating themselves. They even worked with the best therapists they could find.
By the time she was ready for school, the couple were extremely proud of their loving, beautiful daughter.
2. The Whole Family Embraced the Vagabond Lifestyle for Her
Over the years, the Bratt family moved from the West Coast to New York and then back to the West Coast before relocating to Massachusetts (near Talisa Soto’s family).
Do you think that’s a lot of moving around? Wait till you hear that they went back to New York just before the pandemic.
All in all, Benjamin Bratt says they had to move 13–14 times! These frequent moves were largely the family’s way of catering to Sophia’s needs.
Side Note: Sophie’s family still has a home in western Massachusetts. So, who knows? Maybe they’ll return soon!

3. They Helped Her Transition Into Independence
As it turns out, the family chose to get back to New York because they found a great transitional program for Sophia.
According to Benjamin Bratt, the program helped her learn how to function independently despite the physical challenges. The program focused, in particular, on everyday activities, like going shopping and cooking.
4. Benjamin Bratt Shaped His Career Around Her Needs
For a while, the DMZ star moved away from the big screen and focused on dramas. He felt he needed to be home more to take care of his daughter.
What Sophia Rosalinda Bratt Has Been Up to
It looks like Sophia is going to walk in her father’s footsteps and pursue a career in entertainment. The young lady didn’t let the challenges get in her way and has landed two roles so far.
Her first acting credit was for an inclusive feature film called “Best Summer Ever.” Benjamin Bratt posted an announcement on his Instagram account.
