General Grant and General Meade led the Union Army, and General Lee led the Confederate Army during the Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse. The Union started with 100,000 men and had 18,000 casualties, and the Confederate Army started with 52,000 troops and had 12,000 casualties. There was heavy casualties on both sides but Grant still continues his attack with another victory for the Union.
